US Drought Monitor
The Drought Monitor is a weekly drought assessment. It provides a consolidated depiction of national drought conditions based on a combination of drought indicators and field reports. This includes a map of drought conditions across the country and a more detailed, regional, textual explanation of current drought conditions.
Also included is a 6 week animation of drought maps, a 12 week animation , experimental short-term blends , and experimental long-term blends . Blend maps approximate impacts that respond to precipitation over varied time scales, such as agriculture, topsoil moisture, unregulated streamflows, and most aspects of wildfire danger.
